ProMover Certification
Become a ProMover!
![]() |
Any AMSA member that is an interstate mover (and intrastate in some states) can apply for ProMover certification in three easy steps:
Once approved, you will then be able to display the ProMover logo on your trucks, boxes, paperwork, website, social media and anywhere else you want to tell your customers that you meet a higher standard for quality and professionalism. |
In 2009, AMSA launched a new consumer protection and certification program called ProMover. This initiative fights scam artists, known within the industry as “rogue operators,” by giving consumers an easy way to separate reputable, professional movers from con artists out to make a quick buck at their expense.
ProMover certification takes the worry and the hassle out of moving by helping consumers identify quality professional movers who meet high standards and by providing information and assistance with everything from finding a mover, to getting an estimate and packing tips, to understanding valuation and insurance.
Interstate ProMovers
The ProMover seal represents nationally recognized, industry-wide standards of conduct for professional movers, and enhances your company’s and/or van line’s brand identity as an ethical, professional business. You’ll also be listed as a ProMover on our consumer website, Moving.org. All ProMovers are subject to an annual review to ensure they continue to meet the certification requirements.
Intrastate ProMovers
Intrastate ProMover programs are an opportunity for state associations to operate an established, nationally recognized certification program that serves their members and provides a competitive edge in the local marketplace. The ProMover seal represents nationally recognized, industry-wide standards of conduct for professional movers, and enhances a company’s brand identity as an ethical, professional business. The first ProMover intrastate program was launched in collaboration with the California Moving and Storage Association (CMSA) in 2010, and was expended to the Michigan Movers Association in 2012 and the Florida Movers and Warehousmen’s Association in 2013. Other state certification programs are under consideration.
